About the Collective

The Straddler Collective is a new storytelling platform that features creative work from individuals who migrated to a new country in their teenage years. We showcase all forms of storytelling including essays, poems, photos, artwork, etc.

The name derives from the idea that adolescent immigrants often have to straddle opposing identities, lifestyles, and cultures and thereby face unique challenges compared to those who moved either at a young age or in their adulthood. There is no other platform or publication dedicated to this specific experience. Our goal is to create the platform, to amplify and celebrate the many voices of the adolescent immigrant experience.

Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis. Writers and creatives from all backgrounds and countries are welcome to submit.
